After countless sleepless nights and surviving on just 3 to 4 hours of sleep, I finally finished implementing all of our professor’s original suggestions. I thought we were completely in the clear, but as any developer knows, live presentations love to throw a curveball.
Right in the middle of the presentation, a brand-new, unexpected problem popped up. In that split second, my mind went straight to the worst-case scenario: What if the entire system fails right here?
Fortunately, it didn’t fail. The core system held up perfectly, and the issues turned out to be just minor, unexpected bugs rather than a total crash.
I didn’t let the setback slow me down. That very same night, I dove straight back into the source code to figure out what went wrong. By the time I went to bed, I had successfully investigated, fixed, and patched those bugs.
Building a system under a tight deadline is full of unpredictable moments, but learning how to stay calm, adapt, and deploy a quick fix is all part of the journey!
